Placing an Order

Before placing your order, please inform us if anyone in your party has a food allergy.

Microsoft Outlook

You may still use the Event Order Form and submit to Tufts Catering by using your Microsoft Outlook calendar.

  • In your Outlook calendar, select the date and time of your event and open the Appointment tab.
  • Once in the Appointment tab, write the event title and location in the subject line.
  • Select the Start Time for your event, and use the same time as the End Time.
  • Once times have been entered, attach your completed Tufts Catering Event Order Form by clicking on the Insert tab and then clicking on the Attach File icon.
    • You may write in or attach any additional event information to the appointment request.
  • To send us your request, click on the Invite Attendees tab of your appointment page and invite myfoodorder@tufts.edu.

We will confirm receipt and booking of your event request by accepting your MS Outlook meeting invitation.

Service Types

We offer three levels of service to meet your budget and event needs. Our menus are designed for specific levels of service. Please review these service types before placing your order.

Online

You can now order Tufts Catering online 24/7! The first time you login, you will need to register for an account. After that, you’ll be able to return to your account, review your orders, and place new orders any time day or night.

Tufts Catering will review your order and contact you by e-mail or phone if we have any questions. An order confirmation will be sent to you.

Orders placed online are only available Monday through Friday.  Weekend orders must be submitted to the Tufts Catering Sales Office using an Event Order Form.

Order Follow-Up

We will review your order and contact you by email or phone if we have any questions or require more information to complete the order.

Upon request, we will confirm your event details by emailing you your menu and cost estimate confirmation.

Please contact us five days prior to your event to confirm your minimum guest count guarantee and give us your final guest count three days prior to your event.

Orders left on voicemail, received by email, or faxed to the office outside of business hours or on weekends will be considered received on the next business day. If you do not get a confirmation within 24 hours, please reach out to us.

Special Orders

Requests for specialty foods and beverages will be honored when possible. The client will be required to purchase specialty items at the vendor’s minimum amount.

There will be no refund for any specially ordered products not used at an event. The products may remain the property of Tufts Catering.

Volume Discount

We offer a 10% discount on all food purchases for:

  • groups who purchase two consecutive meals¹ within the same day and location², or
  • 100 or more guest meals

Event must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the discount:

¹Meals are defined as Hot Breakfast Buffet, Hot Buffet, Barbeque Buffet, International Buffet, Hot Plated, and Chilled Plated

²Meals must be held in the same event space for the consecutive meals

* Discount excludes admin fees, all à la carte items, light breakfast buffet, wrap and bistro sandwich package, all platters, box lunches, kosher, beverages, bar service, receptions, weddings, linen and china rentals, flowers, decorations, and late fees.
